Cool idea. I'm not sure I'd want my phone ringing every time someone calls the hotline, though. And not everyone has helpful advice on every topic (I know I certainly have limitations anyway). Is there a way people could instead provide a summary of what they need to talk about that gets sent out to us and we could schedule a call with them instead? I know that kinda negates the whole idea of a hotline, but it might also allow us to pick a time when we can give more time and attention to the conversation, as well.

Hey Mark,
These are some really helpful thoughts. I was reminded of what I read in 2 Peter 1:3 "His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness..." I think that the heart of what your driving at is a church that's dependent on this power for guidance, with each member finding their place in God's family. Am I right?

Human power and strategies crumble when faced with this sort of power.

Mark,
I'm excited to have found your blog. Especially with entries like this one. This is the beauty and song that this generation craves for - connection with their Creator. I'm working with Student Venture as a writer and would love to stay in touch: plong3510@gmail.com Thanks, Philip

Hey Mark. Thanks for your words. I will be preaching next Sunday and have chosen to preach a sermon that was directly inspired by this post. Its simply called "Being Fully Present."

Thanks for inspiring me. (I attended NYWC in Atlanta, and read your blog post, the night we arrived in Atlanta.)

God Bless & Thank You

Mark:

You always say stuff that resonates with me. I am sold on this "wholesale change" that you mentioned. But the lingering question is...who do you start this conversation with? Do you start with the pastor and the church staff? Or do you start with identifying who in the community wants to come to the table to dream?

P.S. What did you mean when you said: "some will choose not to change and their youth ministries will see large numbers of people attend."
